Gerard Carter was known by many in the Hartsburg-Emden area, and cherished by even more.
But instead of lamenting about things we cannot change, I think he would rather us revel and look back nostalgically at the time we had with him.
I only knew Gerard through my gym. He was always supportive, and was eager to lend a hand, or congratulate you for an accomplishment. You always really felt better when he was around. He knew how to light up a room.
Gerard may be gone, but he will live on in my memories forever. And I know he will live on forever in the hearts of the community as well.
