On Tuesday, March 15th, the 7th grade junior high volleyball team took the 2016 7A State Championship. They played Next Generation, and the Lady Stags took the win in two matches with the scores being 25-8, 25-12. They ended with the record of 26-0, which is only the 3rd time ever that Coach Jennifer Hayes has had a 7th grade undefeated season. And weirdly, all three undefeated season have been 10 years apart. Her first being in 1996, second in 2006, and these girls making it in 2016.
To carry on the tradition of a 8A State Championship, the 8th grade volleyball team took the title on March 22nd. They played Limestone Walters who was a big competitor for this team, and this game was a nail bitter. They went in three matches with the scores being 25-23, 23-25, and 25-23. It was very intense and a great game for both teams. The 8A 2016 State Champions ended with a record of 21-7, and this is the 5th year in a row the Lady Stags have taken the 8th grade state title. Congratulations to both teams and good luck in the coming years!
