September 19, 2015On Friday, September 18th, Mr. Muntz’s Illinois History class took a field trip to the Cahokia Mounds State Historic Park in Collinsville, IL. Since the beginning of the year, this class has been learning about the Mississippian Indians and a sub-group called Cahokia. They built massive dirt mounds by hand out of Earthworks. This class was able to walk over and was able to see the mounds that were created many, many years ago. On the top of one of them, you could even see the Gateway Arch. They had such a great time visiting ancient history. It gave all of the students a new perspective on the ancient historical world.
