This past weekend the Hartem volleyball team competed in the Quincy Notre Dame
Tournament. The tournament consisted of 24 teams. On Friday they played in pool play and
ended up in the gold, finishing with a 2-0 tournament record. They played West Prairie the first
game and defeated them in two sets, 25-20 and 25-23. They also defeated Belleville Altoff in a
close 3 match game. The scores were 24-26, 27-25, and 16-14. The next day they entered bracket
play in the Gold. The first game they beat Fox Lake Grant. Then, they moved on to Quincy
Notre Dame. They lost in a 3 match, close game. The scores of the games were 25-21, 17-25,
and 13-15. For the last game of the tournament they moved on to play against Mascoutah for 3rd
place. The Stags ended up losing the game, but ended up with an impressive 4th place finish at
QND. The Hartem volleyball team will now enter their post-season with a record of 30 wins
and 5 losses. Their first round of regionals will take place on October 27th at Roanoke-Benson
against the Delavan Panthers. Good luck Lady Stags!
