On Friday, October 9th, the Illinois History class took a field trip to Starved Rock State Park in Utica, IL. The class explored the park to learn more about the rock that is a huge part of the state we live in. This state park is also the location of beautiful cliffs, canyons, and thousands and thousands of… wait for it… stairs. These stairs could make any normal person who loves nature instantly hate it. This park’s beautiful landscape was nearly ruined by the amount of stairs I had to walk. Overall though, I enjoyed this field trip because I was able to view some incredible scenery and even take some pretty cool pictures. It was a great experience and I would gladly go back again, but definitely bring water next time.
